Why Support Us

We are proud to be the largest independent theatre organisation in Scotland, playing a leading role in the country’s cultural life. Without the Festival Theatre you simply would not be able to see the very best of national and international opera, classical ballet, contemporary dance, musicals and children's shows throughout the year. The King's is the only theatre in Edinburgh to welcome major touring dramas with stars such as Nigel Havers, Simon Callow and Penelope Keith. It is also the main home to our local amateur productions throughout the year as well as the venue for the ever popular pantomime.

We have a duty of care to continue to enrich the lives of the public, present the very best in national and international performing arts to the widest possible audiences and hand over a vibrant theatre organisation to future generations.

Core funding, income from Box Office sales and our commercial activity is not sufficient on its own for us to maintain and develop our theatres and programming. We need your help too if we are to succeed in our mission.

It is only with continuing and increasing support that we can realise our theatres' true potential.
