How to Book

The Festival and King's Theatres have a centralised Box Office.

Online

Use our secure online booking facility for all productions at both the Festival and King's Theatres, including many education events and talks. You may book up to 10 tickets per performance online. For bookings of more than 10 tickets per performance, please contact our group sales team, who handle large bookings and who can offer great savings for most performances.

The online system allows you to buy up to a maximum of ten tickets per performance. We do however offer group discounts on most shows for bookings of eight or more tickets (ten or more for certain shows) so, to take advantage of these savings, call our Group Sales Department on 0131 529 6005 or email groups@eft.co.uk.

Telephone

Call us on (0131) 529 6000. Lines are open Monday to Saturday 11am-8pm (or until 6pm on non-performance nights) and from 4pm to curtain-up on Sundays when there is an evening show at the Festival Theatre (or at least one hour before a performance). All calls are placed in a queuing system and are answered as promptly as possible.

To make a group booking (8 or more tickets) call the group booking department on 0131 529 6005, Monday to Friday from 10am-6pm. Please leave a message on our answering machine outside these hours, or during busy periods, and a member of the team will call you back.

What is the Theatres Development Fund?

The Trust has introduced a Theatres Development Fund to protect the future of the Festival Theatre and The King's Theatre. Both require significant capital investment and maintenance, especially The King's, in order that we might provide our audiences and artists with the standards of comfort expected of public buildings today.

Where applicable, published ticket prices and discounts will include a small contribution to the Fund. Most importantly, every penny raised will be directed solely at the improvement of our buildings and their equipment

The Trust is a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation and whilst it receives annual revenue funding from the City of Edinburgh Council, this is not sufficient to cover the costs of improving and maintaining our theatres.

The Trust will publish a report each year that will detail the improvements and developments made possible by the Theatres Development Fund.

If you wish to make a further contribution to the Fund, please write in to the Chief Executive or email enquiries@eft.co.uk
